The problem is being caused by a missing "other_hosts" file in ~/.cache/oneconf/. For example:
$ touch ~/.cache/oneconf/76b30080acea072de13a3a29000002eb/other_hosts solved the crashing in my case. I'm not sure if the long foldername (76b30080acea072de13a3a29000002eb in my case) is a unique number I suspect it is.
