You must be in Unity 3D as it doesn't seem to be an issue on 2D mode. A way to tell is to logout, and next to your username on the logon screen is a little settings button. If you click it you will see Unity 2D and just Unity. Just "Unity" is the 3D mode - by "3D" I just mean it has more animations and effects.
Glad I'm not alone with this issue.
