Public bug reported:

Problem with running programs: system crashes at random moments:
vertical lines over the screen, you can't change the num/caps lock
lights on the keyboard. Sometimes spontaneous reboot, sometimes
Alt+SysRq+REISUB works, sometimes I need to turn off the power.

So far this problem has occured when running these programs: firefox,
virtualbox, supertuxkart, movie player etc... No specific package
involved so I hope I file the bug the right way. ubuntu-bug GPU/ubuntu-
bug kernel said package doesn't exist, so I couldn't think of a better
package than xorg.

This machine doesn't have this problem when booting another OS from
grub, but I haven't tried another linux installation yet.

I was told to file this problem as a bug report:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/134026/ubuntu-12-04-x64-crashes-when-
starting-programs.

Answers to "We also need:"
1) The release of Ubuntu: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
2) The version of xorg: 1:7.6+12ubuntu1
3) What you expected to happen: system doesn't crash
4) What happened instead: system crashed.

Let me know if you need more information or if I can help in any other
way.

Thanks for the hard work!
