I have upgraded from 11.10 (64 bit) to 12.04 (64 bit) using the upgrade
process which advertised itself when my undate manager ran on 2nd May.
The upgrade seemed to work perfectly, however the problems started on
rebooting and starting 12.04.

12.04 seems to be unstable in that on some boots it reverts the screen
resolutions and scal to some default which doesn't match my monitor and
also hides the login fields, so I can't log in. Instead I have the menu
at far right , just off the screen which allows me to shutdown and
restart the syste. On restart, I get the login fields back, but only
after I reverted the kernel back to the one which I was using under
11.10, which for me was Kernel 3.0.0.17

I would recomment people hold off upgrading to 12.04 for a while, as
even if it works one day, it can revert to being unstable the next.
