Upon running virtualbox, I was informed that virtualbox-ose-dkms was not installed. I installed it with sudo apt-get, and encountered the same message again.
I ran the command 'dkms build virtualbox/4.1.12' * Is there a GUI way to performs this action? I could not find it * Was this action supposed to have occurred automatically upon 'apt-get install virtualbox-ose-dkms'? That did not happen As the bug report suggests, I ran it as a non-root user and was momentarily confused by the error messages Perhaps this is a symptom of a bug in the virtualbox-ose-dkms installation? (After running 'dkms build virtualbox/4.1.12' and 'dkms install virtualbox/4.1.12' as root, I was able to start the virtualbox service and use virtualbox.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/999239 Title: dkms build virtualbox creates a lot of noise when run as non-root To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/999239/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
