Hi, I also have the same problem on a Dell Precision M4600 laptop running Ubuntu 11.04 (cant upgrade due to other reasons). I also don't have any Firewire devices plugged in, however, syslog contains every second the following lines:
May 12 14:03:12 myPC kernel: [ 8375.253099] firewire_core: skipped bus generations, destroying all nodes May 12 14:03:13 myPC kernel: [ 8375.744985] firewire_core: rediscovered device fw0 May 12 14:03:14 myPC kernel: [ 8376.563454] firewire_core: skipped bus generations, destroying all nodes May 12 14:03:14 myPC kernel: [ 8377.053233] firewire_core: rediscovered device fw0 Does anyone please have any workaround for this??
