Same problem here on Ubuntu 12.04. I'm on a large network, but I can only access a few hosts over SMB with Nautilus. On most hosts I get this "Failed to retrieve share list from server" error. The "smbclient -L host" command works for every host.
As far as I can tell the problem occurs only for specific SMB host OS'es. Both Windows 2008 hosts I tried were unaccessible through Nautilus, while the Linux host I tried (smbd 3.X) could succesfully be accessed. But there are probably other factors involved. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/930696 Title: NAUTILUS: Failed to retrieve share list from server To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/930696/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
