Public bug reported: As described here: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=608263
When the desktop-base package is installed, you will *always* get a background image for GRUB, and you will lose the pretty aubergine hue during boot. This cannot be changed without editing /etc/grub.d/05_debian_theme. The GNOME desktop depends on desktop-base, so installing GNOME will cause this issue. ** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: grub2 (Debian) Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #608263 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=608263 ** Also affects: grub2 (Debian) via http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=608263 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995677 Title: Installing desktop-base forces a GRUB background image To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/995677/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
