The problem still exists on 12.04 (Precise Pangolin). I've tried running "ubuntu-bug linux", but it complained that I'm using mainline kernel instead of official Ubuntu one, which is untrue - I've recently upgraded to the 12.04 release and didn't mess with custom kernels. Here's the uname output:
