Public bug reported:

I have a macbookpro 5,3 with Ubunut 12.04 amd64 installed, and I am
running a dual display setup using Apple 23' cinema display. I am able
to boot into the OS just fine and even run most everything. After
getting the dual display working I noticed a lot of polish and
functionality is now missing for Unity.

The doc is no longer transparent, Auto hide doesn't function. Showing
the HUB works but is no longer pretty and trans parent. just looks solid
black. Clicking the system menu in the upper right I have to hold down
my mouse in order for the menu to stay visible. Many other tool bar
menus do the same.

I noticed some program menus such as Chrome when using prefs menu the
look and feel is not skinned nicely anymore and look like the "windows"
style menus.

I do get errors and crashes from time to time. Just randomly.

One other clue is if I go to System Settings > Displays I now get an
error window that says "Could not get screen information" RANDR
extension is not present.
