Just a 'me too' on this bug - this is what I got after starting claws- mail and sending myself an email:

This is on Kubuntu 12.04. uname gives: Linux sklaptop 3.2.0-24-generic #37-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 25 08:43:52 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux it's an Atom 330 cpu.
