Public bug reported: There has been some comments on Lion-like reversed scrolling on Ubuntu. Yesterday I noticed, however, that it's horribly counter-intuitive when used with a mouse and scroll wheel. At least my brain is wired to see scroll-wheel as manipulating the viewport and the trackpad as dragging the document being viewed.
Therefore I'd suggest that the setting should be configured according to the type of the pointing device in use and that the default should be traditional scroll for mice with scroll-wheels and reversed for both mice with touch interfaces (such as Apple's Magic Mouse) and touchpads. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: interaction natural-scrolling reverse-scrolling scrolling -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995091 Title: reverse scrolling should be tied to the type of the pointing device in use To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/995091/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
