Thanks.  One interesting thing I see is the following line in the
boot.log:

[   14.569266] init: plymouth-stop pre-start process (1323) terminated
with status 1

This implies that 'plymouth quit' has failed for some reason - possibly
because plymouthd itself has exited abnormally.

Could you try booting with "plymouth:debug=file:/var/log/plymouth-
debug.log", and attach the resulting log file?
