Thanks, Christopher! Before following your suggestions, I did some more testing to be able to reproduce the bug. Here are the puzzling results:
In one user account (the user created during installation, id 1000, almost no changes to the defaults), I can invoke the bug, whereas in my main account (id 501 for historical reasons) I can't - even if I use the Ubuntu font and let firefox allow webpages to use their own fonts! If I have user 501 in an X session on tty7 and 1000 another one on tty8, then the bug is invokable and visible in both sessions. Sometimes, however, when switching from tty8 to tty7, I can see the "distortions" for a moment before everything looks normal agagin. But most of the time both users are affected. Now I looked for differences between the two users. I copied the home directory of 501 to 1000 and changed the owner to 1000. Still 1000 showed the bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992459 Title: some fonts corrupted after resume from hibernate To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/992459/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
