Public bug reported: This may have been a "time out" error as the installation of the "Ubutu restricted extras" was very slow yesterday. The system seemed to be overloaded but wouldn't close for a long time with a "download in progress" before finally clearing and closing after some hours. I was only updating the system after upgradeing to 12.04 at the weekend. (no other problems yet). John
