I use gnome-panel with 12.04LTS. When using fullscreen Adobe Flash player I see the top menubar plus the bottom starus bar, plus I get some strange pointer behaviour (cannot reach the bottom part of the screen) when I use XBMC mediacenter.
However, all these problems went away when I logged in using "Gnome Classic (no effects)" instead of "Gnome Classic".
