I've noticed strange behavior with Alt+F10 ever since upgrading to 11.04, I think. Sometimes it behaves how it's supposed to (maximize and unmaximize), but sometimes after I change some display settings, it switch to "only maximize" behavior. It just did it again recently, and I was able to correct it in 11.10 by changing the keyboard shortcuts. When I first opened it, Alt+F10 was assigned to "Maximize window". Unassigning it from that and assigning it to "Toggle maximization state" changes it back to working the "right" way. I'm not sure if there's something messing with the keyboard bindings behind the scenes, or what.
