Thanks all. There's no need for more attachments. It seems that approach to debugging this problem is inappropriate. Repeated stack dumps like that only show the most common stacks based on wall-clock time, not CPU time consumed. So they're all generally showing wait functions, which use most of the wall-clock time in compiz, but none of the CPU time.
