This is still an issue. Just this morning my computer dumped me into
busybox when booting. I have been updating my computer with the latest
updated daily since I have reported this bug with no change in behavior
(hence no updates)

In my view, there are a bunch of race conditions in the current upstart
(does not always fail the same way) that are exaserbated by the
combination of a flash based boot drive and a software raid mirror for
the home directory. The most common failure seems to be that the system
tries to access the software raid before it is fully up.

I will probably be upgraiding to 12.04 this weekend in the hopes that it
is at least different if not fixed.
