OK. I have upgraded from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04 (and maybe from 11.04 before
that) and I have changed my desktop a few times inbetween Unity -> KDE -> Unity
-> Xface. I haven't done any magic. I have used sudo tasksel. The reason for
that was because I had issues with all of these desktops, primarily with the
netowrk manager.
The current setup Xubuntu 12.04 works best so far - hardwarewise. I usually do
not like to play with my settings much and I usually do not install additional
themes. So I think I am currently using one of the preinstalled ones:
"Graybird". Even before I have done any changes - from the very first moment
when I installed xface - there was no icon showing when Broadband connection is
established.
I have read that this might be a theme releated, so I have played with varios
settings after that but nothing changed.
The icon is OK when there is no connection, when there is a wireless connection
or wired connection but there is just an empty space when there is a Broadband
connection.

I could post a screenshot as a proof if that would help.
