@Jason St. JohnComp: I copied a comment from bug #656745 where I replied to a person named "aspera", sorry for the confusion. Bug #656745 seems to be sort of a duplicate to this one. Anyway, thanks for your feedback. So kernel 3.4 seems to be an improvent for you, but no final fix. In the meantime, RC4 is out, maybe you want to give it a try: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.4-rc4-precise/
PS: Just to make this clear: I am not involved in any patches or kernel development, I only had the idea to try out the mainline 3.4 kernel. @Christopher M. Penalver: Kernel 3.4 fixes the problem on my HP nx7400, after several days of testing I can say that I am sure about this, no more freezes in the meantime. ATM I am running 3.4 RC4 on Ubuntu 12.04. Too bad 3.4 won't make it into the official release of 12.04. So the question is, is there a way to find out what causes the freezes and backport the stuff needed to kernel 3.2? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/898852 Title: Kernel freeze when on battery - Compaq nc6400 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/898852/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
