I was puling my hair out with essentially the same problem for the last few days: segfault on blkid, in 12.04 and 11.10 in my multi-boot system. Everything booted, though, and partitions looked normal and diags reported no probs with them.
So now on a lark I eliminated the 7MB unallocated space on /dev/sdb before the first partition, which is an extended partition. Voila! Problem solved. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/781484 Title: Receiveing a Segfault from mounting a drive or running sudo blkid To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/util-linux/+bug/781484/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
