Q:Could you please go into the bios and make sure the IOMMU option is set? A: Yes and no.
I went into BIOS and looked for IOMMU(and other entries like MMU) -> nothing. A internet search has shown me so far that IOMMU is not common on AMD chipsets. A summary of the chipset capabilities can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_AMD_chipsets You can see that there are only IOMMU entries for chipset version >=970. Together with the circumstance that to my 760G chipset is absolutely nothing to find(internet search >2h) about IOMMU I would say that my hardware is not capable of IOMMU. This article says that also some 8xx chipsets should have IOMMU: http://www.dailytech.com/AMD+to+Add+IOMMU+Support+to+Chipsets+in+2009/article11192.htm I have also checked the BIOS version which is 1.8 on my sytem. The MSI availabe verision is 1.10. It is a bit tricky to thing over updating when the probability is high that also the update will change nothing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/985579 Title: attaching PCI-E HD Radeon 6450 graphic card to Ubuntu12.04 64bit guest fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/985579/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
