Hi Ming Hua! I can confirm that I have the same problem. I'm using Xubuntu 7.04 (feisty) with a 2.6.20-16-generic kernel, an XFCE desktop, gaim 2.0.0beta6 and I'm using SCIM for typing Chinese while using an English system. I can't type in gaim at all - not even the shortcuts to change the input method work here (Firefox seems to be fine though...)
