This is not a gnumeric bug, see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=663371 for a discussion of that. It turns out to be an ibus bug that is only visible under certain conditions. It has been fixed in ibus, see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=813125 .
