When you choose "Unset Key", it's type is changed from "int" to "float" (that solves the Gconf Error), and it's value is changed from 9 to 8.0, but these changes are not saved if you don't "Edit Key..." (here you can change from 8.0 to 9.0 again) and click OK. So you're right, you can't delete the key, but we don't want to delete the key, only change it's type from "int" to "float".
Aren't you getting the memory-warning anymore? In my case, i get the memory warning, and gnome-compiz-preferences doesn't show up. However, if, while one instance of gnome-compiz- preferences is loaded, and in another terminal I load a second instance of gnome-compiz-preferences, then the first one shows up. Then, if I click "Enable GL Desktop", I can see both windows, and I get the following output from both loaded instances:
** (gnome-compiz-preferences:9270): WARNING **: plugin crashhandler isn't installed (gnome-compiz-preferences:9270): libgnomevfs-CRITICAL **: gnome_vfs_get_uri_from_local_path: assertion `g_path_is_absolute (local_full_path)' failed ** (gnome-compiz-preferences:9270): WARNING **: plugin showdesktop isn't installed ** (gnome-compiz-preferences:9270): WARNING **: plugin inputzoom isn't installed ** (gnome-compiz-preferences:9270): WARNING **: plugin animation isn't installed
Unfortunately, compiz effects are not working, and my settings are not saved. -- gnome-compiz-preferences does not start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/118948 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
