>From a post by hugmenot, I tried http://forms.helixcommunity.org/heli ...alplay-current dated 06/09/07. Install gave three peculiar (to me, anyway) messages like this one:
***MEMORY-WARNING***: gconftool-2[14097]: GSlice: g_thread_init() must be called before all other GLib functions; memory corruption due to late invocation of g_thread_init() has been detected; this program is likely to crash, leak or unexpectedly abort soon... After that install completed, BBC News video worked. I guess it's fitting that an Ubuntu Alpha needed an early alpha type realplayer. In particular note the reference to libc6 while RealPlayer10GOLD may be using libc5 which may not be in Gutsy?? Question: How do we get the word out? Thanks!
