Effenberg, I think you're experiencing a different set of problems than the original reporters, who have a regression in 295.40 compared to 295.33.
What's your display configuration? If you have multiple large displays, or multiple displays with different resolutions, it is sometimes necessary to stay in the maximum performance state at all times.
