Public bug reported: On an Esprimo Mobile U9200 running up-to-date Precise, I am no longer able to adjust screen brightness at all. The slider in the brightness and lock dialog does not respond, and after 10–20 seconds, it disappears entirely (see the screenshots I've attached).
The function keys for the same purpose do not work, either. Adding brightness with Fn+F9 only lights up the screen for a short moment. Bug 979495 seems related. Until a couple of days ago, the keys not working were the only problem — I was able to adjust the brightness in the dialog, even though I needed to re-do that after every boot.
