Still an issue in 12.04 beta today. This is an important bug. As said above, it is one of the most mature apps available in the software centre, and the best of its kind. The average user of Ubuntu won"t be able to understand what happened to the app after installing it (not showing in the launcher, not in the dash). Using the terminal is not an option for a lot of Ubuntu users.
