Thanks again, the calendar is back in the panel. So far all issues are fixed.
I checked the dpkg logs. There is only one and it does not say anything about removed packages. So it is a little mystery how the packages got deinstalled. I know for sure that I did not do it and I'm not the kind of person that answers 'yes' to questions without reading. But I have to admit, as the software is beta there are very many updates and I do check all of them before installing. I only check for update of 'grub' as a faulty update rendered my machine unbootable last week. But that issue is already fixed. As I seem to be the only one with this issue I assume it was a glitch in the matrix..;-) I will return if more strange things happen but for now it seems everything is all right.
