Ok, this is weird... I just tried the following:
1) run "sudo gnome-control-center"
2) you'll see the network configuration is empty (nothing weird here)
3) Exit the application
4) Now, run gnome-control-center again, this time with your default user (i.e. 
no sudo)

After following these steps, the issue is gone in my environment.
