Public bug reported: The xhci-hcd module should be included in the initrd to allow for booting from USB3 devices (when connected to a USB3 controller). uhci- hcd and ehci-hcd are compiled into the generic kernel so no need to include any module, xhci-hcd (for whatever reason) is not.
This is at least critical for the kernel on the installer disc, which is nowadays often copied to USB drives, but should be included in the default installed initrd as well. ** Affects: initramfs-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/979812 Title: Include xhci-hcd in initrd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-tools/+bug/979812/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
