Public bug reported: Initial installation was 10.10 upgraded to 11.10. Worked well until upgrade to 3.0.0-14 kernel then would not boot and had to resort to previous kernels. This was the case for -15 and -16 kernels. But when -17 was installed suddenly the Nvidia drivers wouldn't work and it became impossible to boot into any previous kernel.
Tried a new side-by-side installation of 11.10 on the machine. But it fails to install grub no matter where I tell grub to install to.
