** Description changed: I have two setups. Both with Line6 Pod Studio UX2 guitar preamps and an onbourd souond card (both HDA Intel, one is an 'ALC892 Analog', the other is a 'ALC269VB Analog'). In both cases, When opening qjackctl and setting the input output cards like so: Input: UX2 Output: Onboard sound (to my speakers). I receive a kernel panic. On both of the machines the computer stops and the LEDs on my keyboard flash. I receive no error output on screen, the computers just freeze up and a hard reset is required. I am able to set up JACK to use the UX2 as both input and output but this means I can't really use my speakers connected to my computer's onboard sound card. - This issue occurs both on the latest Ubuntu 12.04 beta (updated as of - 09/04/2012) and on my Arch Linux instal with a similar kernel. + This issue occurs both on the latest Ubuntu 12.04 beta (updated as of 09/04/2012) and on my Arch Linux instal with a similar kernel. + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24. + ApportVersion: 2.0-0ubuntu4 + Architecture: amd64 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USER PID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/seq: simon 2023 F.... qjackctl.real + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Beta amd64 (20120328) + MachineType: Acer Aspire 5755G + Package: linux (not installed) + ProcEnviron: + LANGUAGE=en_AU:en + TERM=xterm + PATH=(custom, no user) + LANG=en_AU.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-20-generic root=UUID=e12eb07d-2999-4e97-8fdd-c2471fffaa62 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-20.33-generic 3.2.12 + SourcePackage: linux + StagingDrivers: line6usb mei + Tags: precise staging precise staging + Uname: Linux 3.2.0-20-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: + + dmi.bios.date: 05/24/2011 + dmi.bios.vendor: Acer + dmi.bios.version: V1.11 + dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag + dmi.board.name: JV51_HR + dmi.board.vendor: Acer + dmi.board.version: Base Board Version + dmi.chassis.type: 10 + dmi.chassis.vendor: Acer + dmi.chassis.version: V1.11 + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAcer:bvrV1.11:bd05/24/2011:svnAcer:pnAspire5755G:pvrV1.11:rvnAcer:rnJV51_HR:rvrBaseBoardVersion:cvnAcer:ct10:cvrV1.11: + dmi.product.name: Aspire 5755G + dmi.product.version: V1.11 + dmi.sys.vendor: Acer ** Attachment added: "AcpiTables.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/976612/+attachment/3040120/+files/AcpiTables.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/976612 Title: Kernel panic when selecting input/output cards in JACK To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/976612/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
