I have been experiencing this problem. I have a HP dv6-6183. Kubuntu 11.10 KDE base version 4.8.2 kernel: Linux (x86_64) release 3.0.0-17-generic
When copying files to Fat's file system cards (using Dolphin), copying dialog box finish before of the copy have really done. The real copy starts after 6 seconds (so so). Using "cp" command I have the same issue (command finish and after few seconds, real copy starts) I tried to find some messages on kernel log or monitoring UDEV but they don't show any information.
