** Description changed: I am on a Geode LX system with CS5536 audio chipset. Using 2.6.32 in Lucid, OSS4 worked great. With 2.6.35 in Maverick, the modules load, no errors are produced besides a warning that my feeble hardware is incapable of mixing multiple audio streams, but no OSS4 audio. I had the same error/warning in 2.6.32, but had working audio. + + I just grabbed the latest mercurial sources from OpenSound.com, built + the source, and have working Opensound again. I'll report the bug as an + OSS4 deb package bug. As per the forums, other people on other architectures are merrily using OSS4 on Maverick. I have thus deduced the issue to be CS5536 specific, in the 2.6.36 kernel. I don't know if it is Ubuntu-patch related or 2.6.35 mainline related. lsmod | grep oss: - oss_usb 92545 0 - oss_geode 8451 0 + oss_usb 92545 0 + oss_geode 8451 0 osscore 541033 2 oss_usb,oss_geode dmesg | grep oss: [ 21.199847] osscore: This processor architecture is not compatible with vmix (info=-1) - Not enabled.
