I tried booting per instructions in the kernel debug (removing quiet splash vt.handoff=7 options and setting gfxpayload=ext).
Well a whole lot of stuff whizzed by before my machine hung. Last meaningful thing I saw was something like "running init.d scripts top to bottom" then a ton of entries that meant nothing to me. Last thing printed on the screen of my frozen computer started with this: [14.968080] [<c|565fdf>]? .... So I don't know if this is useful. It is meaningless to me. If there is some way to capture all the junk sent to my screen so I can sent it to you, please send instructions. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/974412 Title: System fails to boot after kernel upgrade to 3.0.0-18 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/974412/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
