Public bug reported:

I am on Ubuntu12.04 64bit updated to 7.4.2012.

A call of gerris from console is not working, because there seems no
executable file for in user/bin

user@userhost:~$ gerris
gerris: command not found
user@userhost:~$ gerris3D
gerris: missing FILE
Try `gerris --help' for more information.

as you can see gerris3D works in principle.

The hint to try gerris --help work not and gives:

user@userhost:~$ gerris --help
gerris: command not found

In this sense gerris should give out correct user advice and not hints that can
not work.
