After the last time, it didn't even recognise the CD anymore. It did recognise a commercial audio CD. The CD had been previously verified. So I restarted with an old DVD-ROM plugged in instead. 4th try, this time with 810 packaged to get, failed too, again with a different error:
Could not install '/cdrom//pool/main/r/rhythmbox/rhythmbox_0.10.0-0ubuntu2_i386.deb' short read in buffer_copy (backend dpkg-deb during `./usr/lib/rhythmbox/plugins/iradio/libiradio.so') Nothing of note in apt.log, and main.log reflects the above error. I guess if I continue, I'll get it to install by attrition, chipping away a package or two at a time. ** Attachment added: "4th try" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8008558/dist-upgrade4.tar.gz -- Edgy > Feisty Alt CD upgrade update-manager fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
