Although it happens less often, it has happened to me with Feisty on my new (x86-64) machine. I was in the middle of an IRC meeting so I couldn't logout. It took maybe 30 minutes to the X server to release the mouse from it's weird state. This behaviour is very annoying. I get the choice between killing all I have on my desktop (and any unsaved work) or wait for ~30 minutes hoping the X server will automatically un-b0rk itself.
