Here's some news on this issue: After trying around with many different settings in alsa-base.conf (options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-dig position_fix=3) - which had no effect at all - I upgraded manually to alsa-driver-1.0.25 which had no effect either. Problem persisted.
So I took a look on alsamixer and found a new element: "Auto-Mute Mode". Setting this one to "Disabled" sound worked immediately fine on the back-panel. So this issue is solved by now for me, because I don't intent to use the front-panel jack for headphones. But there is definitely a problem with jack-sensing. Maybe it's related to this single mainboard-model. Cannot find out if anybody else has this problem with this board. Googling around doesn't give any satisfying results. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/960227 Title: [System Product Name, Realtek ALC887-VD, Green Line Out, Rear] Choppy Sound playback To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/960227/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
