Hi Joost Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
I would suggest that you resolve this by installing the default-jre- headless package. The way the upstart configuration for Jenkins work has changed in precise to resolve this issue (it does not actually need JAVA_HOME - just a path to /usr/bin/java). As this has quite an easy workaround I'm going to mark this 'Won't Fix' for Oneiric. ** Also affects: jenkins (Ubuntu Oneiric) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: jenkins (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Changed in: jenkins (Ubuntu Precise) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released ** Changed in: jenkins (Ubuntu Oneiric) Status: New => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971952 Title: Java home not correct causes jenkins to crash at start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jenkins/+bug/971952/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
