I wasn't sure which version to check. I used the link to the most
current version in the Mainline Kernel Mapping section. The resulting
version is:

uname -a
Linux dpwegener-laptop 3.4.0-999-generic #201204010405 SMP Sun Apr 1 08:12:57
UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

There was no Oops on boot and asus_wmi appears to load successfully:
[ 41.585123] asus_wmi: ASUS WMI generic driver loaded
[ 41.588701] asus_wmi: Initialization: 0x0
[ 41.588817] asus_wmi: BIOS WMI version: 0.6
[ 41.589036] asus_wmi: SFUN value: 0x0
[ 41.591668] input: Eee PC WMI hotkeys as
/devices/platform/eeepc-wmi/input/input6
[ 41.607905] microcode: CPU1 sig=0x106ca, pf=0x4, revision=0x107
[ 41.613396] microcode: Microcode Update Driver: v2.00
<tig...@aivazian.fsnet.co.uk>, Peter Oruba
[ 41.901672] asus_wmi: Backlight controlled by ACPI video driver

Suspend/restore also works with this kernel version.
