Public bug reported:

When I use the Window Snap Function in Unity to have 2 applications
maximize to half of the screen and restore them again by draging one of
the windows back to the middle the mouse cursor is moved way to high
above the titlebar when the snap mode ends.

to reproduce this use the following steps:

1) start unity
2) start a random application and pin it to one edge of the screen
3) remove the snap mode window from the screen edge by draging it back to the
middle

the mouse cursor will be way to high above the window. It's not only
Graphical as you also feel the the window is "under" the mousecursor
which feels weird. you got to stop draging and start draging again to
have everything back to normal.

This is probably a Compiz bug but ubuntu-bug did not find any duplicates
yet.
