Hi, I have a Dell Studio 1558. uname -a : Linux mypc-Studio-1558 2.6.35-32-generic-pae #67-Ubuntu SMP Mon Mar 5 21:23:19 UTC 2012 i686 GNU/Linux With no boot parameters ls /sys/class/backlight: acpi_video0 When using acpi_backlight=vendor as boot parameter: ls /sys/class/backlight: dell_backlight
Until the latest update i.e. 2.6.35-32, the brightness up/down was working fine with "acpi_backlight=vendor" as the only boot parameter. After the update, the brightness up/down doesn't work and the screen is at full brightness. Note that I have the PAE kernel. Help! (my eyes are burning and its exam time!!)
