Public bug reported: Currently sssd package depends on the package libsasl2-modules-gssapi- mit. Please change this to "libsasl2-modules-gssapi-mit | libsasl2 -modules-gssapi-heimdal" so that the Heimdal implementation of GSSAPI module can also be used.
I prefer the Heimdal implementation over the one by MIT and these can't co-exist, the packages conflicts each other. I tested sssd with libsasl2-modules-gssapi-heimdal installed by installing sssd using "dpkg -i --force-depends sssd_1.8.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb". sssd GSSAPI works just fine also with the Heimdal implementation so there's no reason not to allow it. --- ApportVersion: 1.95-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: sssd 1.8.1-0ubuntu1 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcEnviron: SHELL=/bin/bash TERM=screen PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-20.32-generic 3.2.12 Tags: precise Uname: Linux 3.2.0-20-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: ** Affects: sssd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-collected precise ** Tags added: apport-collected precise ** Description changed: Currently sssd package depends on the package libsasl2-modules-gssapi- mit.
