Public bug reported:

(Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer)
When I browse through the net, watch videos on youtube (chrome + flash plugin)
there is no problem at all.
But when I open a video file in VLC Media Player (2.0.1), I hear the sound
repeating several times.
After running ubuntu-bug diagnostics the bug goes away soon until the next
reboot (as you may have noticed, soon, not right after it) but I used to play
with settings, and if I'm not mistaken, setting output settings to 'Analog Mono
Output' used to make the sound play ok, but in mono.
Sometimes after changing settings in different ways and returning them back the
bug came away.
I have no guess what helps.
Please fix it, this got really annoying.
P.S. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/877509 this one
seems to be alike
