** Description changed: Its a strange problem that I have seen come and go. So the problem: Whenever a USB drive or eSATA drive is connected to the computer, the boot process takes extra long and sometimes fails (I mean fail as in doesn't seem to go anywhere). I have verified that fsck is not coincidentally taking place that's causing this delay The solution is to plug the offending devices out or plug them in after boot. Which seems a bit unfortunate. The behaviour is also not consistent so it is hard to point a finger. Also my /etc/fstab is defined in terms of uuid so I am not sure what else could be the problem. Grub?
