Public bug reported:

The audio output presents noise both on the front headphone output and on the
rear speaker port.
Audio tracks are played correctly except for the noise level.
The noise disappears if i mute the outputs and the noise level is controlled by
the alsamixer "Master" and
"Front" levels. It does't change with the PCM slider. every other slider
availbale is set to minimum and
doesn't affect the level.
Now I have installed Xubuntu 11.10 but I had the same problem with xubuntu
10.04.
